Pet Tricks - Dog Lick Mat
Ready for the secret to giving your stubborn dog a stress-free bath? Read THIS
Hey Ben,
As a long dog owner myself. I have got to say giving my dog Zola a bath is like pulling teeth because ever since she was a young pup, she has never enjoyed taking a bath.
She’ll be the first to lay in a muddy puddle of water to cool off but she will do everything to avoid a refreshingly clean bath.
Now, in the beginning it was easy, I could just pick her up and set her down in the tub.
As she got older and heavier, picking up a 90-pound German shepard when was not in the cards.
She knew she had the advantage and could turn into a boulder like when we’re on a walk and she decides that going in a completely opposite direction from home in the pouring rain is better for everyone.
You’d think treats would work. Unfortunately, she wised up pretty quickly as I consistently led her into the bathroom.
So I turned to grabbing the leash and walking her to the tub while encouraging her to jump in.
That only worked a few times as well.
It had gotten so bad that if she even suspected that a bath was in her future, she’d hide under the bed until I gave up, trying again later.
Frustrated, I scoured the internet searching for easier ways to get her in the bathtub.
One thing after another failed until I came across a product that not only encouraged her to get in the bath… but to stay still during the bath.
That product is the Frisco Square Silicone Dog & Cat Lick Mat!

With the Lick Mat, I can smear peanut butter all across the surface and stick it to the wall of the bathtub.
I was hesitant to use it at first because I thought, isn’t this rewarding her stubborn behavior?
But scrolling through the reviews and testimonials convinced me to give it a shot.
Now, the unthinkable is happening. Zola is willingly jumping in the bathtub!
She spends the entire time, licking the peanut butter from the Lick Mat without a care in the world.
The Lick Mat has been such a breath of fresh air for me that I wish I could go back in time and tell myself about it sooner.
Bath time for Zola and I is no longer a dreadful nightmare as a gleefully fun experience.
I guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
I’ve even applied the same principle to her nail trimming.
If you’ve met Zola, you know it’s next to impossible to keep her paw still as I take a grinder to her nails.
Now, I just grab the lick mat.
She’s too busy enjoying the delicious treat on the Lick Matt to notice me casually hold up her paw and grind away.
Ben, Ease your day to day with the Frisco Square Silicone Dog & Cat Lick Mat.
